Reflecting on my own experiences at my PCP's office or any of the specialty services I have had is always a great reference point. Simple gestures such as eye contact and a friendly smile will always work wonders and make patients feel welcomed. So many "bad experiences" can be chalked up to perception and/or to a patient who may be experiencing challenges and barriers in life that are unbeknownst to us. Quality healthcare is more than just a degree or a state of the art clinic, it's about showing others you care and ensuring that the patient is having a positive experience at every touch point.
