HEDIS does not accept CPT-II codes for cancer screenings because they don’t contain enough information about what type of screening was performed and when it was done. Clinics that see care gaps in Cozeva for historical cancer screenings should upload the documentation into Cozeva or submit an EHR extract to MedPOINT. That said, some providers find the cancer screening “documented and reviewed” CPT-II codes useful for flagging encounters containing proof of service for future medical record submission to Cozeva. The flagging codes are 3014F (Breast Cancer Screening), 3015F (Cervical Cancer Screening) 3017F (Colorectal Cancer Screening). Again, these codes alone will not be compliant for HEDIS.
